Our Pastor..

Our Pastor is Bro. Michael Greene, and he has been our Pastor since 1996. He is a "true native" to the High Country, in that having been born here, he has lived in Watauga County, his entire life. Raised on a family farm, where he and his family still reside, in the beautiful Beaver Dam community, he was raised and nurtured by God-fearing parents and surrounded by family and friends who kept Christ and church as the center piece of their lives. On April 21, 1983, during a revival meeting at Beaver Dam Baptist Church, he responded to the convicting power and convincing call of the Holy Spirit of God by receiving the Lord Jesus Christ, through faith and repentance, as his personal Savior and Lord! Later, while in high school, the Lord graciously allowed him to meet a young lady by the name of Cheryl Cable, who would become the "love of his life!" On March 21,1992, they were united in marriage and from that point, they would begin a new, life-long journey together for the Lord! On September 21, of the same year, Pastor Greene accepted and publicly acknowledged God's call for him to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Four years later, in March 1996, the Lord brought Pastor Greene to Bibleway to become our pastor. Bibleway is the only church that Pastor Greene has ever pastored. During his tenure here, we have seen many souls saved, several men answer the call to preach, missionaries called out and sent forth, and many people receive opportunities to establish and enhance their gifts and talents in preparing them for life-long ministry and service to the Lord locally, and all around the world! Multiple ministries from within our church have also been established under his leadership, that are still ongoing today. Add to that, his desire and continual vision to see more people come to know Jesus Christ, we expect many more ministry opportunities to come! From a personal standpoint, during his time as Pastor here, the Lord has allowed him attend and graduate Bible College, as well as bless Mrs. Cheryl and him with a precious family consisting of five sons! Their sons are all involved in serving the Lord through multiple and individual capacities, including three of them who have submitted and committed to preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ as well, one as a pastor and the other two as evangelists! Pastor Greene, by the grace and tender mercies of the Lord, has provided continual, consistent and compassionate leadership through many different seasons, most of them delightful, while a few were dreadful and difficult, by simply standing faithful on the Word of God without change or compromise, nor with fear or favor of man. He has proven himself, time and again, to be a man who preaches the "the whole counsel of God," believing that alone, has the power to change and transform any life into God's wonderful purpose for them, regardless of who or where they may be currently in life, for the good of man and for the glory of God! We greatly rejoice that as a pastor, Pastor Greene faithfully teaches us, and as a Sheperd, he faithfully, patiently, and lovingly leads and feeds us, as the Lord faithfully teaches, leads and feeds him! We love our Pastor and thank God for providing him as a "gift" (Ephesians 4:11) to our church! Please come visit us sometime so that we may introduce our Pastor to you!
